Position Summary: The System/Network Administrator role is responsible for configuring, maintaining, monitoring, testing, and optimizing all server hardware, software, network, communications equipment, and Microsoft (MS) Azure and 365 tenant applications. This person will also analyze and resolve end-user messaging program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training where required. This person will have demonstrated experience with Microsoft (MS) Azure hosting configuration, deployment, and support. Additional focus on server provisioning through MS Hyper-V. This includes developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, testing, and optimizing all network connections and communication links. Taking a proactive role in working with other IT staff to expand skills and capabilities. This individual must have an intimate knowledge and comprehension of the business rules and technologies behind the company’s critical business applications. This individual will contribute to the planning, development, testing and deployment of the company’s internal applications and application enhancements.

COMMUNICATION

  • Generates and maintains documentation on system configuration, usage, and management. Establishes standards and documents processes used within infrastructure team.
  • Provides end user training, as necessary, to successfully utilize corporate systems.
  • Maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Breaks down problems into smaller components, understands underlying issues, can simplify and process complex issues, understands the difference between critical details and unimportant facts.

  • Perform system backups of NAS, SAN, SQL Server, VMs, etc., and deploy and administer data center backup recovery solutions.
  • Establish and maintain a backup strategy that can provide mailbox level restores within a timely manner.
  • Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician or third-party support.
  • Test disaster recovery plans in compliance with HIPAA, SOX 404, and SAS 70 Type II requirements.

PRODUCTIVITY

Manages a fair workload, volunteers for additional work, prioritizes tasks, develops good work procedures, manages time well, handles information flow.

  • Seeks opportunities to improve system and network stability and efficiency through ongoing monitoring, analysis, and configuration or hardware changes.
  • Works within and outside of the Infrastructure team to help streamline and improve processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Provide Tier 2 through 3 technical support for end users.
  • Where necessary, provide end user training and support through verbal and/or written communications.
  • Backup other staff members as part of cross training.
  • Work with end users to identify and deliver required PC service levels. Liaise with, and provide training and support to, end users and staff on computer operation and other issues.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

  • Deploy, configure, and manage MS Azure hosting services for cloud-based virtualization and application management.
  • Configure and support MS 365 Azure, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive in a hybrid on-premise and cloud environment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain on-premise servers.
  • Install, configure, and maintain SAN and NAS file storage systems.
  • Manage all aspects of MS Hyper-V and virtual server environments for company network.
  • Configure and manage MS Cluster Shared Volumes and failover clustering of Hyper-V systems.
  • Install, configure, and manage Windows Server OS, Exchange, and SQL Server servers, software, and any other corresponding equipment.
  • Monitor and test e-mail server software performance and provide statistics and reports.
  • Manage CommVault backup services and provide timely restores as required.
  • Administer and implement technologies for remote users through VPN/SFTP/SSL/PPTP access methodologies in a highly secure and monitored architecture.
  • Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, and UPSs.
  • Compose and maintain documentation for both administrators and users.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):

  • Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer science or computer engineering and/or 10 to 16 years’ equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated minimum four years’ experience with configuration and management of MS Azure hosting and virtualization.
  • Demonstrated four to six years’ experience with MS 365 tenants, Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, Teams and Teams Phone System, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and MS Compliance and Security Centers.
  • Demonstrated six to eight years’ experience in on-premise Exchange, SharePoint, Windows Server, BI, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Demonstrated eight to 14 years’ experience in server management and five to seven years’ experience in MS Hyper-V administration.
  • Experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting SAN and NAS storage systems, especially Dell EqualLogic and Unity systems.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting RightFax or similar faxing software, including related T1 and PRI configuration.
  • Experience in remote LAN access implementation, router configuration, Ethernet switches (Cisco, Juniper, HP, Dell), IPS/IDS systems, and firewalls.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Home office that is HIPAA compliant for all remote or telecommuting positions as outlined by the company policies and procedures.
  • Mobile Device for work purposes as defined by the company policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $83,444.00 - $104,305.00 per year
