Job description
The purpose(s) of this position is to
- Coordinate, support, and supervise outpatient care and services in the Morris Outpatient Department.
- Coordinate, support, and supervise surgical and preoperative patient care delivery in the Elbow Lake and Morris Surgery Departments.
- Share accountability with the Enterprise Surgery Leadership Team for the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of patient care in these areas.
- Operational functions include providing for safe staffing, financial stewardship, and a respectful environment of care for staff and patients based on person-centered principles.
- Quality and Safety. Ensures the environment is non-punitive and engages staff, providers, and patients to identify and speak up about safety concerns. Intentional efforts to support continual process improvements that enhances the safety and quality of patient care in the patient care environment.
- Supervisory functions include recruiting, interviewing, evaluating, team development, coaching, counseling, and terminating staff for an overall efficient running operation. Students are welcome in our care environment and will be treated as future colleagues and offered safe intentional learning opportunities.
The Supervisor will develop and model healing relationships with all patients, families and visitors. Will develop key working relationships with Enterprise clinical staff, support departments, referral agencies, volunteers, APPs and Physicians. The Supervisor must have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, must be able to work cooperatively with teams, demonstrate public relation skills, and exercise good judgement. Effective communication skills are essential for this position.
Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.
- Education: Registered nurse with current licensure in Minnesota. BSN is preferred or willingness to obtain. Three years clinical experience. This position requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Certification preferred.
- Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
- Must attend the work site per schedule.
