We are currently seeking a full-time Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution located in Wilmington, Delaware.
The
Substance Use Disorder Counselor is responsible for coordinating all substance abuse/addiction program activities in a correctional setting. This includes providing intake, assessment, treatment planning, and group and individual counseling.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of bachelor's level degree in a Human Services or related field preferred
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification required or be actively working toward attaining a substance use credential within 2 years of hire
- May substitute higher education for experience, but must hold a two-year college degree and possess a CADC
- Current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification required
- Ability to pass and maintain a security background clearance
Rotating three weekdays (8a-4:30p) and two mid-shifts (11:30a-8p) Monday-Friday, and every other weekend from 8a-4:30p; 40hrs/week.
