Job Title: Stone Countertop Fabricator Reports to: General Manager/Owner

Location: Westlake, Ohio FLSA Status: Full- Time, Hourly

Job Summary:

Granite Works Stone Design is looking for a highly motivated Stone Countertop Fabricator that wants to join a quickly growing company with great growth opportunity. Candidates should be proficient in equipment such as grinders, air polishers, and other equipment for project competition. This candidate will be asked to perform on the spot problem solving and attention to detail.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct supervisory responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Fabricating edges of stone
• Has the ability to read and translate drawings and diagrams
• Able to identify and troubleshoot fabricating issues
• Performs quality inspection of finished products that includes the comparison to templates for dimensions while maintaining the quality of work Granite Works is known for
• On the job critical thinking to ensure jobs are completed promptly and according to our company’s quality standards
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers and supervisors
• Fix issues as they are presented onsite
• Follow standard operating procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follows company policies and procedures.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Has a working knowledge and understanding of different types of stone and the use of products and solvents used for the fabrication of stone

Educations and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience of stone fabrication
• Experience operating and/or working with hand tools associated with cutting, grinding, fabricating, and polishing various types of stone
• Willingness to learn new skills and become cross trained in different areas of shop work
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High School diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

• Physically able to lift, push, pull more than 75 lbs.
• Able to stand, sit, walk, move, squat, walk or climb for long periods of time
• Able to operate heavy equipment (forklifts and cranes) a plus
