Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Ability to prioritize tasks, coordinate work tasks with others, and meet multiple deadlines.
- Willingness and ability to learn new methods and skills for changing research priorities.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Attention to detail, including the ability to precisely follow written protocols.
- Ability to maintain an organized laboratory notebook (paper or electronic) on a daily basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated prior experience in a bench laboratory with basic laboratory procedures such as weighing, pipetting, and any combination of molecular biology, cell culture, microscopy, or animal modeling techniques
- Demonstrated prior experience in a dry laboratory with computational biology or statistical experience Demonstrated proficiency in cell culture and sterile technique.
- Demonstrated experience in mouse handling, mouse husbandry and/or mouse modeling.
- Demonstrated proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA purification, PCR, ELISA.
- Computational biology coursework and/or research experience
- Demonstrated experience with cell isolations and/or flow cytometry
