About the Position:
The Staff Accountant - Reinsurance will work closely with the Director of Reinsurance and Reinsurance Reporting Manager to oversee all function of reinsurance accounting and
drive growth within the department. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, solutions-oriented, and highly organized.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly reinsurance statements such as ceding statements.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for dealer owned reinsurance companies.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of financial statements, presentations on reinsurance company financial position, and company formations.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- CPA eligible preferred.
- 1-2 years of financial reporting experience, insurance industry experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
