The Role

We have an immediate opening for an International Tax Senior that will be a material contributor for international planning, transfer pricing, compliance support and special projects. This position will have a direct involvement with Lumen’s APAC and European operations, including managing outside advisors (Big 4 Accounting Firms and Law Firms). The successful candidate will also assist with/lead US focused international tax compliance, planning and review tax provisions, including calculations/modeling of Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT and foreign tax credit utilization. With additional responsibilities for reviewing and assisting with technical support of 5471s and 8858s. The role will require keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation/regulations that impact international operations. Must be able to pull and manipulate large volumes of data with minimal supervision and extreme accuracy.

Will work closely with Accounting and regional Finance teams. Intercompany transactions for which this position will generate calculations and support will exceed $1 billion annually. Must be able to understand complex sets of transactions while maintaining high level of attention to detail, organization and follow up.


The Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with and lead Lumen’s international tax and transaction related matters.
  • Perform revenue analysis for various tax planning projects.
  • Model tax implications for BEAT, GILTI, Subpart F and transfer pricing on a monthly and/or quarterly basis.
  • Research international tax issues and opportunities, keeping up to date on current legislation and the application to Lumen’s international tax profile.
  • Act as Tax Liaison for both internal Finance Department and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain technical proficiency in US taxation of international operations.
  • Create efficiencies and improvements in the transfer pricing process through understanding accounting and revenue data and available data tools.
  • Work closely with other Lumen departments to ensure proper application of US and global income tax laws for global tax compliance.
  • Monitor and review booking of intercompany transactions by Accounting.
  • Draft and/or review transfer pricing documentation related to OECD guidelines.
  • Review or create country by country reports and other financial data as needed.
  • Support tax filings and audit support across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree with superior academic record
  • Field of Study: Business, Accounting and/or Finance


Preferred

  • CPA, and/or Masters in Taxation beneficial
