The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Spring Day Camp Counselor to join our team.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

The Spring Day Camp Counselor performs direct supervision of campers and assist with planning and implementing daily camp activities for a group of 7-10 campers, including small and large group activities designed to engage campers and create a fun and memorable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, lead and assist group activities, transitions, time fillers, and songs.
• Assist in specialty camps.
• Complete group head counts.
• Provide parent communication through parent communication cards.
• Complete accident and incident reports.
• Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
• Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.

Are you a good fit?

• You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• You are 17 years or older.
• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Positive attitude and previous experience with children and diverse populations.
• Knowledge and skills in day camp program activities and related equipment set-up, and the ability to instruct participants in age appropriate techniques.
• Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Wage: $15.74 - $17.74 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

Dates: March 11 through April 7th
