A Sous Chef is a hard job to describe as it has all the duties from dishwashing to cooking. As a person you are enthusiastic about each dish you create and serve. Responsibilities:

● Must be able to obtain state health department Serv Safe Certification.

● Passionate about sanitation, take pride in running a superb sanitary operation.

● Manage all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff

● Ensure efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production

● Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order

● Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner

● Assume the role as Executive Chef in his or her absence

● Ability to anticipate needs and over deliver wherever possible

● Candidates must think on their feet and use their initiative to solve problems and deliver solutions

● Comply with all safety and health department procedures. The kitchen absolutely must be clean, organized, and sanitary. Proper temperature procedures are always in place.

● Able to change direction and work on multiple project aspects at once as needed.

● Prepares ALL menu items in accordance with recipe guidelines and par levels

● Maintains and stocks designated station, freezers, refrigerators and storeroom with food products daily: follows proper rotation system and notifies chef to any discrepancies or shortages

● Performs all opening/closing duties of the kitchen daily as determined by the chef

● Labels and dates all food products in storage and refrigeration areas appropriately

● Retrieves ingredients from appropriate areas by lifting and carrying to the food preparation area.

● Adheres to all restaurant policies and procedures paying attention to health and/or safety requirements; communicates and concerns to management

● Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces

● Adjusting or moving objects up to 40 pounds in all directions

● Must be able to ascend and descend ladders and stairs and work in confined spaces

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
