SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and directing outpatient social work services for oncology patients in selected clinics. Design the framework for the overall provision of services to this target population. Collaborate with other disciplines in the planning and provision of services to oncology patients. Helps identify unmet social work needs and makes recommendations for improvement. Develop screening and outreach activities for high risk patients. Serve as a resource to the hospital community in regards to oncology patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree from an approved School of Social Work, with a sequence preferably in Medical Social Work
- Knowledgeable about Oncological diseases and their treatment and the psychosocial implications for patient and families
- General knowledge of Social and Health Resources in the community, with detailed understanding of specialized resources in the community, with detailed understanding of specialized resources for cancer patients
