JBS Lenoir NC - Production Line Lead ($21.00/HR)
DESCRIPTION:
As a Line Lead you will work as a member of the Case Ready Production team to implement JBS USA’s safety policies and lead hourly employees. It is absolutely essential that you arrive to work each day, on time, prepared, and able to get your line up and running by the line start time. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action, up to and including the removal of the line lead title (red hat). You are responsible for the following:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Ability to adapt to sudden change such as down machines and plan changes
- Following GMP’s
- Positive Mindset
- Knowledge of specs
- Knowledge of cut patterns
- Ability to meet the expectations of the attendance policy
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with other team members, management, USDA and visitors
- Hold line employees accountable when applicable have supervisor step in if need be
- Speak to each employee at the beginning of every shift and thank them at the end of shift
- Be able to be a teacher to new employees and correct seasoned employees
- If there are any issues never argue back on the line take it off of the floor. Praise in public discipline in private
- Follow schedule of rotating stretches and morning meetings
- Must be able to have a plan B to resolve issues without supervisor
- 10 pc. audit per primal change over to ensure product is in spec
- Knowledge of machinery in your assigned area
- Check product that is not making it into any trays such as trim barrels and inedible barrels ( to improve yields)
- Ensure employees are safe and using proper PPE including Lock Out Tag Out and ability to stop unsafe behaviors immediately
- Knowledge of daily plan and run order for the days production
- Ability to lead daily stretches
- Must have prior production experience in a similar environment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that all safety rules and procedures are strictly enforced
- Ensure that all associates in their area are following GMP’s and food safety standards
- Understand and follow the run order of the daily production plan.
- Communicate with receiving dept. for raw material needs, always have next item ready.
- Supervise and or help assemble line equipment before start-up.
- Ensure that all required forms are filled out in a timely manner. This includes SSOP’s, label verifications.
- Position employees at tasks to best run the process at hand.
- Communicate with associates what process they are doing and their specific role in that process.
- Lead by example, always follow the rules and have a positive outlook.
- Ensure that the production plan is completed to fill all orders.
- Prevent waste in their area, meat cut and trayed properly, correct trays used, labeled correctly, and product kept off of the floor.
- Keep track of labor to be charged to each customer or species.
- Work with other leads and supervisors to distribute workers to best help the entire production area.
- Ensure that all process checks are followed in required time frame. Ex. Burst/leaker test, Pull test, and gas checks.
- Work with associates to improve their performance, safety.
- Develop people for new tasks/ job training.
