My client is one of the top Self-Perform Solar EPC companies within the USA

To succeed you must be proficient in AutoCAD and PVSyst and have worked on 100Mw+ solar projects

What will you be doing?

Site Layout

  • Generate accurate, highly detailed construction drawings in 2d and 3d software
  • Teach Solar AutoCAD standards
  • Review and approve site constraints and setbacks
  • Lead incorporation of site team feedback concerning constructability and safety
  • Research AHJ and customer site layout requirements

Energy Performance Modeling

  • PVSyst: Solve novel modeling requests using engineering judgement. Review preliminary PVSyst reports created by PV Design Engineers.
  • NREL System Advisor Model/Plant Predict: Run sub hourly models

Contract Review

  • Develop new performance testing exhibits and analysis spreadsheets
  • Independently run performance testing analysis and communication
  • Review and approve IV curve, Voc, and drone imaging commissioning requirements

Electrical Design

  • Align dc string sizing and conductor sizing with EOR methods
  • Create detailed single line diagrams for presentation to customers
  • Ensure equipment in design meets all PPA and IA power requirements
  • Perform cost benefit analysis of equipment sizing/losses against energy production
  • Assist customer with utility/IA documentation updates
  • Explain to customers a high-level power flow illustration from module to POI

Equipment Specifications

  • Check PAN files/modules and OND files/inverters for alignment with design
  • Write project specific requirements for dc system components to send to vendors
  • Ensure EOR incorporates notes and details to capture equipment specifications in electrical design set

Inspire What’s Possible with Independent Projects

  • Attend webinars/seminars, distill knowledge, and facilitate internal team discussions

Construction Site Team Support

  • Attend all EOR design meetings on projects for which the team member is responsible
  • Transfer preconstruction knowledge to on site engineers by facilitating turnover meetings
  • Participate in monthly check in meetings with site teams on design, commissioning, and performance testing status. Collect lessons learned applicable to design and distribute to PV Engineering Team
  • Act as the trusted advisor to site team on preconstruction design choices

Customer Relationships

  • Maintain communication with engineering lead on customer team on a per project basis
  • Coordinate and lead check in meetings during performance testing

Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to tasks, particularly when analyzing current technical tools, and evaluating tools
How will you succeed?

  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and related Autodesk software.
  • Must be proficient in PVSyst and related solar performance modeling software.
  • Demonstrated electrical, structural, and mechanical design and drawing skills
  • Minimum four years in PV Solar construction management or system design, preferably utility scale
  • Working knowledge of NEC code and NFPA standards necessary
  • Basic understanding of construction techniques and project management practices
  • Current driver’s license
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with project managers, other engineering/design team members, management, and installation contractors.
  • Good problem solving and critical thinking abilities and a proactive work ethic. Must take accountability of own body of work, maintaining accuracy and strict attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to clearly define objectives, exercise sound technical judgment, take on increasing levels of responsibility and to thrive in a small, flexible, and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong ability to apply innovative and creative skills to problem solving

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to $110,000.00 per year
