Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead or contribute to the development of program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g. program/project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document)
  • Identify project duration, effort, sequence and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectives
  • Drive/participate in the capital request process, as appropriate (e.g. presentations, cost-benefit analysis, business case)
  • Monitor and document project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards
  • Develop, communicate and implement program and project risk, issue management plans and strategies
  • May lead functional or segment teams or projects and serve as a leader/ mentor by reviewing work performed by others and provide recommendation for improvement.
  • Raise awareness of any misalignment or misunderstanding of project scope and objectives with applicable stakeholders
  • Monitor scope requirements and identify scope-related gaps and issues
  • Define project dependencies/linkages (e.g., hardware, software, licensing, budgets, timelines, regulatory due dates, cross-project dependencies, implementation timelines)
  • Establish/implement/comply with change management processes to drive effective project execution, escalating when appropriate to manage gaps and issues

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of direct or indirect project management experience driving work to achieve business goals/objectives
  • 2+ years of experience managing project using agile methodology
  • Experience leading and/or coaching a cross functional team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Application Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification
  • Experience with system/platform migrations, new business integration, and working with technology teams
  • Smartsheet experience
  • Agile experience
  • Mature emotional intelligence and servant leadership methodologies
  • Proven organization skills with ability to work in ambiguous circumstances
  • Solid writing, presentation and speaking skills, with demonstrated experience leading project-focused meetings
  • Ability to influence with and without direct management/authority
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to leadership demonstrate

Travel Requirement: Less than 25% domestically

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
