SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing high-complexity projects and larger programs. Individuals in this role use advanced knowledge of project management processes and controls to accomplish project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities from conception through project completion.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead administrative, contractual, technical, and financial aspects of the projects.
• Lead and organize the project team and develop effective relationships.
• Preserve the integrated system design to meet the system performance and technical specification requirements.
• Manage the project master schedule to achieve timely completion of the contract, both internal commitments and actions as well as holding the customer accountable for their commitments.
• Act as the primary interface with customers and key stakeholders.
• Manage multiple tasks and projects as required.
• Lead a multi-disciplined team and sub-contractors; manage conflict, establish priorities, coordinate many concurrent and sequencing activities, develop the people associated with the team, promote effective interactions among many departments, and provide the project team with leadership.
• Manage risks and seek opportunities.
• Manage project cash flow and schedule of deliverables against price/time curves.
• Exercise overall profit responsibility for the total project.
• Generates budgets and prepares proposals for project quotes
• Serves as the main point of customer contact throughout the project
• Coordinates all aspects of electrical and mechanical engineering projects from conception through completion
• Coordinates with the design, production, and installation teams to ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget
• Ensures customer receives all final documentation upon project completion
• Establishes and maintains relationships with customers and vendors
• Conducts risk assessment throughout the project life cycle and effectively manages and reduces risks that may arise

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field, required
• 8+ years of project management experience required
• An equivalent combination of education and experience with integrated material handling and/or automation systems will be considered
• Experience demonstrating increasing levels of project value and complexity
• PMP, or P.E. certification, preferred
• Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office products
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to interact with customers and employees in a professional manner, excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional time and budget management skills
• Risk assessment and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver license
• Experience in the material handling and industrial automation sector, preferred
