Senior Maintenance Person
Job description
The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking two full-time Facilities Maintenance Workers (Custodians) to begin immediately.
Two Shifts Available:
First Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM OR 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Tuesday through Saturday with Sundays and Mondays off
Third Shift: 10 PM - 6:30 AM Wednesday through Sunday with Mondays and Tuesdays off. The third shift is eligible for a $0.40 shift differential.
Essential duties of the Facilities Maintenance Worker include routine and non-routine cleaning services such as, but not limited to:
- Employee operates cleaning equipment and uses cleaning chemicals and materials.
Performs (sometimes heavy) lifting in the removal of trash, moving furniture and equipment.
Shovels snow from building entrances and walkways.
May pick up litter within several feet of the building.
Cleans fixtures, furnishings, and facilities in and around campus buildings.
Works alone or in groups.
Climbs ladders up to 12 feet to perform necessary work.
Adheres to safety procedures, including reporting mechanical and/or safety issues.

In addition, the University will contribute up to a 4% matching contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D)
- Valid Driver's License and be an authorized and approved University Driver based on the Driver Administration Policy.
Preferred:
Related cleaning experience
Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must have good communication skills.
Be able to work independently.
Experience using commercial cleaning equipment is a plus.
