We are currently seeking a Senior Developer that will be responsible for designing, developing and supporting the organization's systems and applications. They will also support users by debugging data issues, process failures and exceptions that have been escalated from the Helpdesk. The Senior Developer will also participate within project teams as a technical resource.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, Develop, Test and Support the Van Eerden application portfolio, with a strong focus on C#, VB.net coding.
  • Collaborate with other developers within the team and with outside consultants.
  • Prepare training/support materials and train users on the proper use of applications when necessary.
  • Assist the Helpdesk in resolving application or system related issues.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly when a user or an automated alert lets them know about a problem.
  • Provide on-call support as needed. (Outside of the standard 8am-5pm hours, including weekends. On call rotation)
  • Work onsite at our Grand Rapids Office.
  • Other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems.
  • 5+ years of experience coding, testing and supporting C#, VB.net based applications using Visual Studio.
  • Experience creating SQL queries from scratch (including stored procedures) and data processes.
  • Hands-on experience in writing complex T-SQL would be preferred, but not required.
  • Compact Framework experience is also preferred, but not required.
  • Development experience with JavaScript, Angular JS, ASP.NET is preferred.
  • Android programming experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication but also a plus to also have presentation skills/experience.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers.
  • Regular use of phone and email for communication.
  • Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
  • The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 70% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office occasionally (accessing files/storage, office equipment, computers and other office productivity devices, attending meetings, etc.).
  • Using a computer while sitting for extended periods is common.
