Manufacturing Senior Buyer

Position Summary:

HR Solutions is seeking a Senior Buyer for our client in the Lynchburg, VA area. The ideal candidate must be able to partner with multiple functional groups, mitigate supply-based risk, and monitor subcontractor performance.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze/identify supply chain improvement opportunities, implement and execute continuous improvement
• Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing and sourcing departments to acquire supply in a cost effective and timely manner
• Procures materials, components, equipment and services as per business needs
• Monitors the cost, delivery schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure highest quality at best value
• Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality and environmental regulations
• Lead improvement tasks/projects to make breakthrough in supply management
• Develop and execute supply resiliency plans to achieve supply assurance
• Support commodity managers to implement productivity projects
• Support and manage major/critical supply recovery and assure continuity supply with no production stoppage
• Troubleshoot with suppliers with a sense of urgency and priority.
• Find root cause of issues and find solutions to tackle issues systematically
• Manage suppliers On-Time delivery performance and find ways to improve
• Coordinate the Engineering Change Order and assure implementation effectively RFQ based on Sourcing’s strategy
• Interact with suppliers and various departments regarding procurement Policy & Procedures Conduct tasks in accordance with all applicable health, safety, quality and environmental regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Economics, or equivalent experience
• 5-8 years’ supply management experience in manufacturing environment
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and attention to detail

Compensation:

• $110,000 / year
• Excellent benefits offered
