Job description
Job Summary:
The Digital Marketing Sr. Analyst, SEO is responsible for managing the development and execution of the organic search marketing strategy including establishing best practices, driving traffic and sales, and implementing a local organic search strategy. This position will take the lead on setting SEO strategy and execution for all SEO deliverables including planning, competitive analysis, platform/tools, on and off-site optimizations, content writing and reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sr. SEO Analyst should have advanced knowledge of best practices, implementation techniques, and analysis in an E-commerce setting with a proven track record of success:
- Knowledge of industry trends, news, best practices, methodologies, software/tools/ technologies, and algorithm changes specific to SEO, and their impact on other programs
- Execute the day-to-day management of SEO program:
- Conduct and review SEO audits to determine areas of weakness and opportunity
- Implement and manage tools and platforms critical to optimizing and driving search performance:Management of 3rd party and Search Engine tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, etc...)
- Execute actionable SEO that integrates technical, content, and product optimization opportunities:Develop on-page optimization including page titles, meta descriptions, and assist with site structure and content mapping for all keywords to URLs
Develop off-site link opportunities to help bolster website backlink profile
Identify and perform a/b tests
Provide regular keyword research, technical content, landing page, and link audits analysis on website with documentation to ensure website is crawlable, clean and error-free
Optimize all existing onsite content including homepage, category, product, blog and landing pages as well create new content identified in content calendar and content gap analysis
Manage content calendar for all content creation, seasonal updates and content programs run internally and by vendors (communicate content priorities with internal program managers of website blog, affiliates, social media, influencers, etc.…)
- Create organic search reporting to measure the outcome of SEO efforts over time, that captures program performance and produces actionable identification of optimizations opportunities from initial benchmarking to measure progress against established KPI’s
- Outline and execute site migration, and redirect strategies
- Maintain and develop the marketing technology systems to improve efficiencies
- Analyze the competitive environment and consumer trends to align internal strategies and tactics
- Content Marketing: strategy, optimization and implementation
- Optimize content for the company website, blogs, marketing materials, and similar platforms.
- Create and deploy strategies for optimized content focused on objectives in line with business needsIdentify content opportunities and outline strategy for implementation
Utilize content marketing best practices to write/create high-quality content to improve user experience
Manage regular optimization of copy based on shifts in trends, seasonality, or business needs
Partner with internal teams to execute content publication
- Execute content writing and implementation within provided timelines to meet business needs & help optimize for SEO rank
- Establish objectives and KPIs to report on content performance
- Manage onsite technical requests and QA relating to SEO including meta data, product content, location page content and blog:
- Partner with internal teams (planning, merchandising, social, affiliate, etc.) to develop and ensure content calendar is aligned with priority product categories
- Explore SEO opportunities and facilitate integration within all available marketing channels (developers, content writers, paid search, display, email, and social media)
- Local SEO program development:
- Knowledge of local specific SEO best practices
- Experience with local listings platforms (Uberall, Momentfeed, Yext, MOZLocal, Bright Local, etc...)
- Create, claim, verify and optimize online listings across the web (Yelp, GoogleMyBusiness, etc...)
- Monitor and report on local keywords and tracking to retail locations
- Management of E-commerce SEO and CMS platforms for reporting, and optimizations including:
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, JSON-LD, Javascript, and Schema
- CMS platforms (Shopify, etc...)
- Tag management solutions (Google Tag Manager, Tealium, etc...)
- Enterprise-level SEO, and Search reporting platforms and diagnostic tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, Keylime, BrightEdge, Conductor, etc...)
- Lead strategic planning and team collaboration meetings to provide insights and guidance as needed to achieve SEO success
- Lead other SEO Analysts & work directly with Sr. Manager Performance Marketing to plan and execute an organic search strategy
Qualities:
- Minimum of 7 years of digital marketing or SEO experience, with 3-5 years of senior analyst experience preferred and strong knowledge of SEO best practices, implementation techniques, content creation, and analysis in an E-commerce setting with a proven track record of success
- Strong passion for SEO
- Interested in digital marketing, specifically in organic search, –showing an interest in the process, and a willingness to learn
- Analytical, problem-solving mindset
- Knowledge and experience of E-commerce and CMS platforms, experience with Shopify is a plus
- Advanced knowledge in Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
- Possesses strong business writing skills and able to produce high quality content/documents including product copy, and long form content like blogs
- Retail E-commerce experience is required:
- Fashion and apparel is preferred
- Ability to drive and manage projects from inception to completion
- Thoughtful and detail-oriented; organization skills and ability to work effectively and multi-task
- Can take direction, as well as work well independently or in a team environment
- Desire to be part of a close-knit team, learning from others and assisting where needed
- Great sense of humor and ability to maintain strong relationships with different personality types
