Senior Accountant needed for Property Management Company in Annapolis, MD.

-Senior Accountant serves on the accounting staff and supports CFO in performing day to day accounting responsibilities, provides accounting support/coordination to, operational departments, outside accountants, financial institutions, and banks as required.

-May be asked to supervise the work of more junior accountants.

-Position can become hybrid after period of initial work experience with Severn.

Accounting Functions may include but are not limited to:
--Responsible for producing reconciled financial statements for multiple legal property entities. These financial statements include but are not limited to:
· Bank Reconciliations (and resolving any issues with deposits or withdrawals)

· Tying out Tenant and Subsidy Accounts Receivable Ledgers to the Balance Sheet

· Tying out payables and accrued liability schedules to the Balance Sheet

-Sends out financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, and Budget versus Actual) to the property manager, district or regional manager, and VP of Operations and saves the financials on a shared drive for Corporate employee access.

-Reviews financial statements and poses questions to the operational team and/or the CFO.

-Sends out various owner reports on a monthly basis as requested. Different owners and investors require various reports some of which are vast and detailed.

-Maintains compliance with Tax and Insurance Escrow and Reserve bank accounts for multiple apartment communities.

-Maintains compliance with the Security Deposit account relative to the liability and transfers $$$s between the two as needed.

-Oversees ensuring that shared property costs are allocated appropriately to the correct entity.

-Completes all payroll ACHs in line with the appropriate segregation of duties within the accounting department.

-Enters Section 8 subsidy payments to the billing system and resolves billing/payment discrepancies with the Property and District Managers.

-Uploads financial statements and data into DSHA’s MITAS system for Delaware LIHTC properties as well as investor and USDA systems as required.

-Assists with budget uploads into the GL system and developing annual budget templates that include current year forecasts.

-Participates in annual budget process and assists District and Regional Managers as needed and requested.

-Troubleshoots any integration and reconciliation issues between the billing system and financial system.

-Assists with billing or financial system conversions as needed.

-Participates in year-end audit or review pre-planning and preparation.

-Coordinates compilation of required documentation as requested by outside auditors for both year-end audit and tax preparation.
