Hummingbird Scientific is adding a new senior accountant to maintain schedules, perform accounting procedures, and prepare financial reports to help company executives with timely information to make operational and strategic decisions. We are looking for an experienced individual with a hands-on approach that knows the importance of meeting deadlines.
The accountant’s primary role is to ensure the integrity of the accounting information by establishing control procedures while following GAAP. The position requires great attention to detail, an ability to engage others using discretion, and interact with senior management on budget, inventory, and financial issues.
Key Qualifications:
- Solid foundations in accounting skills
- Payroll and benefits administration
- Experience with tax preparation and submission
- Ability to develop and implement operating procedures
Education and Experience:
- BA degree in accounting
- 2+ years of experience in a small business
Optional qualifications:
- Management experience of a small finance team
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- CPA is a plus
