Hardy Corporation has been providing mechanical services for over 75 years. Mechanical experience is not required but is preferred. Hardy has an opportunity for an entry-level Senior Accountant to join our team, reporting to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Preparing journal entries, analysis, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
  • Post all cash receipts received by the company and apply to jobs correctly, including collections
  • Set up new jobs – including both the contract and estimated costs
  • Verify that the customer contract information is entered correctly, including the original contract and any change orders
  • Update, post entries to, and reconcile General Ledger accounts and Sub-Ledger accounts as requested
  • Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
  • Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits.
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Timely escalation of problematic accounts to appropriate management
  • Assisting the controller as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Willing to adjust for departmental workload changes
  • Ability to work efficiently and multitask
  • Experience with Spectrum software a plus
  • Construction Accounting background preferred
