SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Reports to: Director of Operations

Job Summary: Deliver fractional accounting services to multiple small business clients who need meaningful financial information to successfully grow their businesses.

Job Relationships: No direct reports. Sits on the accounting team, works collaboratively with controllers and accountants to serve multiple clients.

Education, Experience, & Certifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Experience: 4-7 years of relevant experience required.
  • Certifications: CPA preferred.
  • Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and stress management skills.
  • Familiar with various accounting softwares.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements for small business clients using various accounting methods including cash, accrual, and GAAP compliant reporting
  • Utilize best practices to maintain adequate support documentation for journal entries and general ledger account balances.
  • Create processes and procedures for efficiently collecting data required for accurate financial reporting.
  • Implement technology solutions to improve the efficiency of the month end close process.
  • Guide junior accountants and other staff by answering questions in a manner that supports collaboration & teamwork.
  • Communicate effectively to multiple clients to complete all work by specified deadlines.
  • Coordinate with internal and external accountants for tax and audit requests.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation.
