We are currently seeking full-time Residential Director in North Carolina for a brand new, transitional residential program for adolescents.
This is an entry level leadership position with room to grow as New Hope’s footprint grows. You will be leading a team of direct care staff, therapists and other professionals who are dedicated to helping adolescents who have been bouncing from placement to placement and are in desperate need of stability and hope. This is a 24/7 level of care.

In this role as Residential Director, you will be a part of leaning in to a population that most do not – DSS involved adolescents. These are youth who have significant trauma histories and have been stuck in the system for far too long. These are youth who desperately need hope and the healing power of a therapeutic relationship with a caring adult. These residential programs we are creating are intended to be SHORT-term in nature and prevent these youth from becoming institutionalized. The goal is to wrap them up in services, supports, skills and get them back into the community as soon as possible.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a PASSIONATE and SELF-MOTIVATED leader who loves this kind of work. You should have excellent communication and time management skills and be able to develop and maintain relationships with clients, your team, and colleagues. You need to be a CULTURE builder. You must be a QP in North Carolina to qualify for this role. Previous experience in residential services is required. We are looking for an exceptional leader.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead, train, support, push, motivate a team of residential professionals
- Problem solve and consult on complex cases
- Build relationships with stakeholders and other professionals in the field
- Monitor and oversee (and drive) program outcomes
- Provide weekly supervision and coaching to your team
- Facilitate effective team meetings to drive performance
- Nurture a culture that people want to be a part of
Qualifications include:
- Master’s Degree in a behavioral health, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Special Education, or related field strongly preferred.
- You must be at least 21 years old
- Five (5) years of experience in a behavioral health environment and able to qualify as a QP in North Carolina.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm in high pressure situations
- Must pass a background check
