Position: School Psychologist
Schedule: 8 am-4 pm, M-F. This position is a full calendar year.
Starting Salary Range: *$60,000-$70,000 annually
- pay is based on education and experience

As a School Psychologist you will be a valuable asset to Laradon’s mission by being responsible for administration and reporting of cognitive and social/emotional assessments for special education evaluations, collecting and analyzing a body of evidence, consultation and direct mental health services, Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and effective communication with staff, students, and families of students served in the School.
No day is ever alike but you can generally look forward to the following responsibilities:
- Administer, score, and interpret cognitive and social/emotional assessments, formal and informal, to assist in the determination of disabilities at IEP meetings and develop individualized academic and social/emotional programming for students.
- Share evaluation/observation information with parents, students, school districts, and agencies in a clear and concise manner, verbally and in writing.
- Provide on-going consultation and support to classroom staff on mental health needs of students.
- Assist in the development of the IEP and BIP for students.
- Provide direct mental health counseling services to targeted individual students and student groups as needed.
- Document services provided and monitor student progress.
- Serve as a resource for staff to promote and implement academic and behavioral supports.
- Oversee crisis intervention techniques including prevention, de-escalation, crisis intervention and physical management.
- Assist with coordination of admissions with the school based teams.
- Assist with development and monitoring programming in keeping with the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and Colorado Department of Education rules and regulations.
- Review Physical Management Reports and Critical Incident Reports, per CDHS regulations.
- Establish and maintain written and verbal communication with families and providers, caseworkers, guardians, schools and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Collect data.
- Maintain the records and appropriate documentation for designated caseload.
- Drive participants as necessary for program needs.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- As Laradon is a small employer and employees work in a collaborative, team environment, employee must be physically present in the office to perform the different job functions.

We believe in providing continuing education and development opportunities for our employees. To start you off right in your position, we’ll make sure you are trained in the following:
- All trainings deemed mandatory by Laradon
- A minimum of 24 hours of training of approved training annually
- Orientation
- First Aid/CPR
- Mistreatment, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (MANE)
- Incident/Intervention Reporting
- Defensive driving
- Crisis Intervention training
- 20 hours of on-the-job training
We ask that you bring the following assets to our workplace:
- Specialist degree or higher in School Psychology
- Experience with students with intellectual disabilities, serious emotional disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder.
- Current Colorado Department of Education License for Special Service Provider as a School Psychologist.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrates resiliency and flexibility to deal with a dynamic learning environment.
- Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full work days.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with students who utilize Augmentative and Assistive Communication Devices, PECS, and/or Sign Language
Experience in trauma informed care
Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis
Knowledge of PBIS
