The Lebermuth Company is currently looking for a 1st shift Sanitation Technician to join our Manufacturing team. Summary:

As the Sanitation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the facility to help provide a clean and safe working environment for employees and guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs general housekeeping tasks in the labs, office areas, restrooms, breakrooms, and locker rooms (i.e., dusting, cleaning floors, sanitizing surfaces, emptying trash bins) to ensure a clean workplace for all.
  • Utilize chemicals to clean and sanitize, sweeps, and mops floors to ensure a clean working environment.
  • Operates industrial truck to transport materials within the plant to ensure the proper items are on-hand as needed.
  • Provides input on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure proper documentation of sanitization records is maintained and cleaning procedures are followed.
  • Maintains equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition to ensure employees have a hazard free work area.
  • Stores specialized tools in a designated area to maximize efficiency in completing tasks.
  • Continually strives to promote a safe food culture, ensuring the production and shipment of safe quality food products by understanding and ensuring compliance of Safe Quality Food (SQF)/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards
  • Acts as a back up to Production Utility and Support responsible for cleanliness of the plant and production equipment, restocking work centers, cleaning production utensils and other production related duties to ensure complete, on-time, and error free processing.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience: 1+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in manufacturing and/or food grade facility preferred
  • Certifications: Ability to become forklift certified and certified for use/wear of specific personal protective equipment
  • Functional Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Basic understanding of percentages. Ability to recognize and follow alpha and numeric sequences. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization is sometimes limited. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written or oral form
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Basic knowledge of computer and keyboard functions.
  • Language Skills: Solid verbal and written communication skills. Ability to give and receive feedback in a professional manner. Ability to read and understand documents such as shop order tickets, safety rules, memos, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

Physical and Sensory Demands:

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, electronic devices, photocopiers, filing systems/cabinets and fax machines.
  • This role frequently uses basic hand tools and other equipment to operate and/or perform maintenance and/or repairs on equipment.
  • This role routinely operates heavy equipment, machinery, or general facility equipment.
  • Ability to sit and operate motorized equipment frequently
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate hand tools/equipment and machinery frequently
  • Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen occasionally
  • Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow occasionally
  • Cognitive and reasoning ability to read, review and interpret work orders or processes on a frequent basis
  • Ability to read and respond due to nature of the work on a frequent basis
  • Ability to talk and communicate with others via phone, in-person, and/or computer frequently

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, squat, twist, push, pull, and carry items frequently
  • Lifting up to 80 lbs. sporadically; Occasionally moving of 400+ pound barrels and totes with assistance (i.e., drum carts, forklifts)This position is regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level is moderate.
  • The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toed shoes.
  • The position may face exposure to some variances in temperature, perfumes, and airborne particles.
  • Employees may work a 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, generally Monday through Friday, but weekly hours and number of days per week may vary. Overtime is sometimes necessary to ensure business and customer needs are met

Sanitation Technician Role Details:

Hourly Rate: $17.00 per hour

Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:00am – 2:00pm
