Salesman Job Description

  • Maintain timely attendance. This includes transmitting orders in a timely manner.
  • Display a neat appearance including appropriate clothing.
  • Ensure products are safely delivered to correct clients. Review inventory before and after delivery to ensure that orders are correct, and the customer is satisfied. Merchandise each account and inventory back stock before ordering.
  • Maintain inventory based on weekly movement of products, sales, slow/busy season, location, holidays and events by ordering plentiful and necessary products in between sales calls.
  • Promote products/sales by merchandising and building clean and organized product presentation displays at customers sites. Rotate product (shelves, wells, displays, back stock) & fill coolers at customer sites.
  • Observe opportunities to sell more product (displays, price promotions, POS, etc). Take care of advertising needs ie neons, glassware, signs by bringing to account personally.
  • Be aware of or setup on site promotions and attend when necessary.
  • Utilize provided company/product literature ie sell sheets and available training resources.
  • Build customer relationships by having good customer service skills. Be friendly, approachable, a problem solver, and work at an efficient pace. Identify decision makers in the accounts and build relationships with them to help sell products. Strive to meet sales goals and exceed customer expectations.
  • Comply to assigned routes and follow the schedule. Plan a weekly schedule of call back accounts to return to on your merchandising day to grow their business through promotions, new offerings, merchandising, or display activity.
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Work as a team with drivers, helpers, warehouse, salesman, office, managers & general manager.
  • Help train incoming employees on proper procedures and requirements.
  • Repair damaged product when possible.
  • Participate in minor draft work as needed by your accounts.
  • Communicate to Sales Manager any concerns or issues in your market or accounts.
  • Manage accounts receivable when needed. Keep in touch with Accounts Receivable Manager. Keep accounts informed and up-to-date and notify when on COD or past due.
  • Provide office with new or updated contact information for accounts.
  • Attend Sales Meetings when scheduled.
  • Keep up with any training courses from breweries.
  • Keep accurate logs ie mileage and expenses.
  • Assist in other areas of operations when necessary & called upon by supervisor/manager.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Clean Driving Record.
  • Time Management and customer service skills required. Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 40lbs min.
  • Ability to lift, bend and carry for extended periods of time.
  • Supply own vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39,095.00 - $50,137.00 per year
