EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED FOR SALES MANAGER:

• Coach and counsel your sales associates
• meet daily with your sales team
• offer them the advice, support, motivation, or information they need in order to help them meet their sales objectives; supervise the sales floor
• make sure your salespeople are doing everything they should be doing to successfully sell
• it is your responsibility to see that the sales floor operations functions smoothly
• work directly with customers and employees across all departments
• assist with any problems associated with merchandise in conjunction with customer service and warehouse operations
• work on an organizational level with other departments to ensure customer needs are met
• answer customers questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses
• emphasize product features based on analyses of customers needs
• help locate or obtain merchandise for customers
• describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers
• knowledge of methods for showing, promoting, and selling products
• use excellent customer relations
• Ensuring department is presentable to the customer by straightening merchandise as needed
• assigning and performing opening and closing duties, which involve but are not limited to, fluffing pillows, repositioning merchandise, picking up trash, etc
• any other duties as directed by management

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS FOR SALES MANAGER: Ability to communicate effectively with team members; positive attitude when working with customers; knowledge of employment and safety procedures.
