Title: Sales Representative, Business Development

Purpose and Function of this position:

Role Function- Quality work, Coordinating multi-stage sales process

Scope of Decisions- Items at hand, prioritizing and coordinating known activities and tasks

Tools Used- CRM database, Relationship Process, Estimating system

Summary: This role is responsible for the care and support of our customers. This includes meeting with new and repeat customers to build relationships and gain work. This role plays a key part in “shepherding” a customer thru the company workflow and remaining a point of contact through the completion of work. While this role will not be responsible for the organization of the crew and work, this role will play a key part in customer service and fulfillment.

Problem Solving: Trial and error, best practices, manuals, documented processes

Examples of decisions and problems that will need to be solved independently in this role:

Does this customer want what I’m selling? What is the customer’s pain? What is the customer’s budget and decision process? Should I close on the spot or set a follow-up appointment? What’s the best use of my time to prospect? What networking group should I join?

How can I best fill the holes in the schedule? How am I improving in the sales training? How can I best overcome the customer’s objections? How will I get my price? Are all my commitments documented on my calendar?

Reporting and Accountabilities required of this role:

  • Weekly Sales Meeting – report on progress of ongoing bids, won deals, weekly schedules
  • Weekly Operations Meeting – be prepared to contribute and respond to Project Mgr requests
  • Monthly marketing meeting – be prepared to report on marketing sources and effectiveness

  • Business Development - related to involvement in networking groups and other business related organizations (Chamber of Commerce, etc) for the purposes of branding and gaining business.
  • Community Involvement - related to involvement in company volunteer activities.
  • Coordination and Scheduling - related to the completion of accurate estimates, reviewing conditions, and involving others as needed.
  • Customer Service – related to assisting customers during the production of their project to resolve issues, capture repeat business, and re-affirm the brand
  • Estimating - related to the creation of accurate scopes of work for projects, being on hand to answer questions during production.
  • Project Profitability – related to the pricing and profitability, right sales rate, right quantities (scope)
  • Sales Effectiveness – related to the percent of won deals and won dollars, the sales process, follow-up, time management
  • Sales Efficiency – related to the number of estimates and customers seen based on the daily, weekly schedule
  • Teamwork – related to availability and communication with other company personnel, developing and maintaining positive and productive relationship

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $150,000.00 per year
