Growing Puerto Rico is currently hiring for Sales Associate position to assist with the Growing Puerto Rico booth at Palmas Farmers Market, and restaurant sales & delivery.

Description: Sales Associate will be responsible for assisting with booth set-up and tear down, customer sales at Palmas Farmers Market events, customer communication, restaurant orders & deliveries (within Humacao), and collecting payments.

Job Requirements - Our new Local Produce Sales Associate will be a dynamic, fascinating person with the following required attributes:

• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
• Customer service focused
• Organized
• Punctual
• Reliable transportation around Humacao
• Desire to learn

This is a part time position, with the potential to grow into a full-time job with increased responsibilities, pay, and benefits. Our ideal candidate has some restaurant and/or retail experience, knows the local (Humacao-area) food and restaurant scene, loves food, has some knowledge, family history, or desire to learn about growing food, and is passionate about Puerto Rico feeding itself.

Growing Puerto Rico is a small business that is passionate about clean, healthy, delicious local vegetables and fruits that reduce our reliance on imports. We grow our produce at multiple locations in Puerto Rico and distribute directly to local markets, restaurants, and consumers. We founded and operate the Palmas Farmers Market in Humacao as a regular connecting hungry people with local produce grown or created by us and over 40 other excellent farmers, ranchers, and entrepresneurs.

Overview

As a Local Produce Sales Associate for Growing Puerto Rico, you will get to know an amazing group of agricultural producers and customers as you assist us with the setup and teardown of the twice-monthly Palmas Farmers Market.

You'll interact with and sell directly to customers at market who share your passion for delicious, local produce. Outside the market, you will make deliveries to local (Humacao area) restaurants and businesses and be rewarded for expanding the number and volume of those customers.

Pay and Benefits

• $11+ / hr starting wage
• 20 hours a month, 4 days a month with room to grow!
