GASWCC is seeking a well-qualified candidate to serve as Resource Specialist in Soperton, GA. This is a full-time, state-budgeted position. Applicants must have excellent communication, public speaking, and computer skills and must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in creating educational programs in PowerPoint. Administrative experience and GSWCC Certification as a Level 1A, Level 1B, or Level II Erosion Control Professional is desired, but not required.GPS experience and experience with ArcView Mapping software is preferred. Experience with event coordination and contracting negotiations are a plus.
Duties include responding to erosion and sediment control complaints, working with agricultural operators to educate them on the need for agricultural best management practices for water quality protection, administering cost-share programs by preparing contracts and tracking funding, arranging demonstrations which provide the latest conservation information, reviewing Erosion, Sediment, and Pollution Control Plans, and supporting local Soil and Water Conservation District activities.
