Work Schedule: RN Labor & Delivery PRN Seasonal
Program runs from August 25, 2022 to April 8, 2023

Rate: $70/hr.

Shift: 12 hour, Nights

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

1yr of L&D Nursing experience required.

• All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
• Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
• Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.
• During the course of the 36 week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).
• Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There is no guarantee of hours by the hospital.
• Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
• Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation. •
• Current FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2022-2023 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year.
• Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.
• Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.

Position Summary:

RN is accountable for consistent, safe, high quality care of all laboring patients assigned from admission to post delivery. Is familiar with vaginal and C-section births, fetal monitoring and provide care for patients who receive various types of anesthesia. Will demonstrate expertise in providing care for patient during PACU period as well as newborn care first two hours of life.

• 
  Must be a graduate of a professional school of nursing
• Must have a minimum of an ADN. If hired into RN required position after September 2014 and no BSN, then BSN required within 3 years of facility date.
• Must have an RN license in the State of Texas or Compact
• Must have a minimum of one year of RN experience in specialty area
• Must have BLS - AHS
• ACLS & NRP required within 3 months of hire
• Must successfully complete designated fetal monitoring course
