ReStore Associate
General Description:
The ReStore is a retail store that sells donated building materials, furniture and appliances, as an ongoing fundraising leg of Trinity Habitat for Humanity. We are seeking a ReStore associate for our Fort Worth, TX ReStore location to help with sales, customer service, and stocking. In addition to an available bonus, Trinity Habitat offers a generous PTO plan, paid holidays, and available medical, dental, life insurance, and 401(k).
Under the direction of the ReStore Manager, the ReStore Associate is an agency Problem Solver. Broadly speaking he or she has responsibility for greeting customers at the store, assisting them with their purchase, and helping customers load their vehicle if necessary. Additional responsibilities include: ringing-up customers on the cash register, answering the phones when needed and assisting the warehouse with loading and unloading trucks.
Problem Solvers are the foundation of the agency. They are empowered to solve problems and to efficiently handle a mountain of critical and required tasks. Problem solvers are incredibly well organized, make the agency look professional and ensure excellent audits. They make sure important details do not slip through the cracks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities…
He or she must:
- Communicate with customers effectively in a courteous manner
- Have outgoing personality
- Retail/Customer service experience is required
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Knowledge of building materials and supplies is helpful
- Assist receiving staff with loading and unloading trucks.
- Sort and stock materials
- Handle donated materials that arrive at the ReStore.
- Lift objects weighing up to 70 lbs
- Ensure the ReStore is safe and clean
Job Conditions…
Position is full-time (40 hours a week). Evening and weekend work is required. It is a non-exempt position. Conditions and benefits are contained in the board approved Employee Handbook.

Specific Responsibilities:
1. Greet customers and assist them in finding what they need
2. Assist customers with their purchase as needed. This would include calculating square footage of flooring, helping them load their vehicle, etc…
3. Ring up customers at the cash register as needed
4. Answer phone and direct incoming calls as needed
5. Ensure that the store is clean, organized and safe
6. Provide outstanding customer service to customers and donors
7. Price and stock material in the store as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.12 per hour
