The Residential Program Specialist is responsible for the implementation of curriculum at the assigned IRAs which includes informal assessment, learning plan development, teaching methodologies, data collection and IRA team member training. The Residential Program Specialist acts as a resource to IRA team members regarding the assessment, targeted intervention, development of valued outcomes/Life Plan goals, data systems and residential outcomes. The Residential Program Specialist interfaces with behavioral services personnel, administrators, and IRA team members regarding staff development and service recipient outcomes.

To actively further the agencys mission to optimize quality of life (QofL) for individuals served by monitoring and implementing systems that promote the QofL of the individuals in our care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the refinement and implementation of Lifelong Learning model curriculum.
  • Directs the functions and activities necessary to ensure quality development and implementation of Life Plan goals.
  • Under the Supervision of Behavior Services and the Coordinator of Adult Residential Services, the Residential Program Specialist trains and implements Positive Behavior Supports using Behavior Skill Training (BST) framework at assigned IRAs.
  • Evaluates IRA compliance in accordance with OPWDD and Medicaid standards.
  • Works directly with the Coordinator of Adult Residential Services to ensure adherence to agency policies and procedures.


REQUIREMENTS
:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Services or related field with at least one year of work with individuals with IDD
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have a valid and clean NYS driver's license
