MidWay in Kingston, a program of Family of Woodstock, Inc. is seeking a 37 hour weekend/overnight Residential Counselor to join our staff.

Responsibilities: Utilize trauma-informed principles to build healing and trusting relationships with residents; ensure safety of household and residents; provide opportunities for residents to learn and grow based on life skills goals and individual interests; model appropriate communication and conflict resolution skills; support residents in maintaining a healthy and clean household; perform regular walk-throughs of household and attend to anything that needs attention; provide crisis counseling, as needed; maintain program logs; transport youth locally; assemble monthly statistics related to units of service.

Schedule: Thursday 9:00pm- Friday 9:30am (12.5 hours); Saturday 9:00pm- Sunday 9:30pm (24.5 hours), with attendance at case conference 10:30am-12:30pm 2nd and 4th Wednesdays (on paid time).* *

Qualifications: Ability to engage youth using a strength-based and culturally competent approach; ability to work through challenges, either collaboratively or independently; understanding of adolescent development; basic knowledge of working with high needs youth, with willingness to learn. HS Diploma or GED, and experience in the human services field, particularly working with adolescents and their families; -Clean/Valid driver’s license and an insured/registered car; - Agree to submit to: Yearly health statement; Clearance from the State Central Registry; Clearance from the NYS Justice Center and other background checks.
