This position will support community locations northern Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. Travel to these locations is a requirement.

Job Responsibilities

The Resident Care Specialist, under the direction of the Regional Director of Resident Care, is responsible for providing support, education and oversight of assigned communities to ensure compliance with regulatory and Benchmark standards. This role is responsible for innovating and implementing processes and procedures to enhance the development of talent and systems. In some select situations, you may be required to provide interim leadership as a Resident Care Director.

As a Resident Care Specialist for Benchmark Senior Living, you will be responsible for the quality of resident care.

Additional responsibilities for include:

  • Communicating with families and friends of residents from assigned communities
  • Assuring compliance with all resident care related regulations at assigned communities (e.g., medication management)
  • Documenting and providing accurate record-keeping, as appropriate
  • Demonstrating personal/resident safety methods and procedures at assigned communities

Job Requirements

As a Resident Care Specialist for Benchmark Senior Living, you must be approachable as well as flexible and professional with your staff, residents and family members. You must also demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of Benchmark Standards and Practices before assuming your position as Resident Care Specialist.

Additional requirements of the Resident Care Specialist include:

  • Being a Registered Nurse, per state regulations; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a care setting; Assisted Living/Home Care or Hospice setting required
  • Knowledge of Dementia care a plus
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds individually
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to travel to community locations within assigned division
