Purpose of the Position:
The Research Scientist II will provide broad support to projects within the Earth System Science Center, specifically focused on remote sensing of the environment.
Duties / Responsibilities
Duties / Responsibilities
- Science support, data analytics, and project management across a variety of research projects
- Leading publications, grant writing, and scientific presentations
- Coordination of research partners and collaborators
- Activities related to the management of deliverables and timelines for funded research programs
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in Earth System Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
- Minimum of 12-21 months of full-time verifiable work experience
- Background in environmental applications of remote sensing or related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Earth System Science or a related field
- Preferred 4 years of relevant work experience
- Experience working with remotely sensed big data within cloud-processing frameworks
- Track record of publications and funded grants as PI or Co-I
- Experience working with NASA and/or other Federal agencies
