Job description
Dauphin Precision Tool, LLC, a leading supplier of American-made, industrial cutting tools, is seeking a qualified Research and Development Technician to join our team. The R & D Technician will be responsible for R&D related activities such as, support of new product development, processes and new technologies. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, testing of new products, data collection, design and execution of fixturing needed in R&D, NC programming of tests as specified in test procedures, run and maintain the equipment associated to R&D laboratory. In addition the R&D Technician will work closely with engineering and customer service to support our customers on a technical basis.
Qualifications
Experience in a machine shop environment. Formal technical education is a plus. Must be able to operate and maintain a 4-axes vertical machining center. Understanding of G and M machine codes and the ability to do machine and tool
set-ups are a must. Microsoft Office skills required.
Knowledge of cutting tools and cutting tool geometries and design experience in any CAD software is preferred.
Reading/writing of G and M machines codes, knowledge of Mazatrol controller, knowledge of Solidworks,
NC Programming experience in software such as MasterCAM, SolidCAM, Power Mill, etc. is a plus.
The candidate must be detailed oriented, methodic and have good organizational skills.
Must be able to adapt to a dynamic work environment and have good problem solving abilities.
