ANCHOR PACKAGING, a growing manufacturer of disposable food service packaging located in Northeastern Arkansas, is looking for EXPERIENCED FACTORY WORKERS WITH GOOD WORK ETHIC. Current openings are at our Jonesboro, Arkansas Plant. We need entry-level Packers, Experienced Operators, Fork Lift Drivers, Quality Auditors, Industrial Maintenance Techs, and other qualified industrial workers. Anchor Packaging operates 4 locations in NE Arkansas. ANCHOR PACKAGING has experienced tremendous growth since the early 60’s with no lay-offs or cut-backs. PURPOSE

To perform product packaging duties and requirements in a safe, organized, and efficient manner while delighting customers with quality products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure product packaging requirements according to work instructions, specification sheet, and/or quality docket before packing product.
  • Maintain visual quality checks of product before being packaged.
  • Place product that meets specifications in box or gaylord.
  • Tape, label, and stack boxes on pallets for material handler pickup.
  • Housekeeping of packing station and related areas.
  • Maintain all safety policies and guidelines.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Policies.
  • Assist operator whenever needed in start up or shut down of the line.
  • Must be able to keep up with fast-paced machines in order to meet productivity goals.
  • Must communicate with operators and leaders.
  • Must maintain reliable attendance.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by group leader, supervisor, or manager of division.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to learn quickly and maintain knowledge from core training program

  • Must be honest, fair, and possess good work ethic
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds above head
  • Be able to stand in one spot for long periods of time with intermittent breaks
  • Must be able to make quick decisions on product quality parts communicate issues effectively up the chain of command
  • Must be able to maintain speed on all production/packaging lines and perform essential duties and responsibilities


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must have a High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and training with Bronze Level or Higher Work Keys Career Readiness Certification; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, both written and verbal. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and work instructions.


MATH ABILITY

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.


COMPUTER SKILLS

Minimal computer skills required. Need ability to access documents located on an in-house computer system.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Griders utilized in production area require constant hearing protection.
  • The employee will occasionally be cleaning filters and material systems.
  • Exposure to high heat index during the summer months.
