Job/Position Summary:
A Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering patient care within the scope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met. This is done in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Tennessee. A Registered Nurse is responsible to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, Department Manager/Director, Nursing Supervisor, Associate Directors and the Chief Nursing Officer. A Registered Nurse is responsible for the direction and supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Lab Coordinator, Emergency Department Technicians, and Nursing Secretaries.

Position Shift:
- Full-time, Days
- $15,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates (current employees and candidates who have worked for Vanderbilt within the last year are not eligible.)

Associate's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 1 year relevant experience.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):

- Must have the required education needed to be a licensed Registered Nurse by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.Department Specific RequirementsWound Care: 2 years of Med/Surg experience; BLS, ACLS, PALS required within 3 months of HireSurgery and Pre-Admission Testing: 1 year of experience preferred; BLS, ACLS, PALS required within 3 months of HireCardiovascular: BLS, ACLS, PALS required within 3 months of HireMed/Surg, CCU, ER: BLS, ACLS, PALS required within 3 months of Hire
Physical Requirements/Strengths needed & Physical Demands:
- Medium Work category requiring exertion up to 50lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 20 of force frequently and/or up to 10 of force continually to move objects.

- Occasional: Carrying over 35 lbs: Transporting an object holding in hands, arms or shoulders, with help of coworkers or assistive device.
