Fast Paced and growing Interventional Pain clinic looking to hire a skilled triage nurse. As a Registered Nurse (RN) with Oklahoma Pain Management, your purpose is to provide support to the physicians and general care to the patients during office clinic. You will be working one on one with patients, physicians, and other staff members.
Duties and Responsibilities
The RN position requires the RN to work hands on with all patients. The duties and responsibilities listed below are the core of the job but other responsibilities may or may not arise out of circumstance.
In Office Duties
· Triage Patients: Prior to the physician seeing the patients, RN’s are required to triage the patients. This includes finding out the chief complaint, full medical and medication history, completing physical examinations, and communicating that information in a concise manner to the physicians and medical assistants when needed.
· Minor IM Injections: On occasion, it is necessary to give patient intra-muscular injections that contain Toradol and or other steroid medications.
· Starting IV: On occasion is it necessary to start IV’s with fluids and perform blood draws for blood patches.
· Complete Notes: All RN’s are responsible for completing the office visit or procedure notes on the patients they triage. This includes verifying their medical history, inputting physical exam findings, establishing any orders or referrals, and detailing in well written, professional sentences, their appointment.
Facility Duties
· Triage Patients: Prior to the physician seeing the patients, RN’s are required to triage the patients. · Assisting in Surgery: When the physicians do spinal cord stimulator surgeries, it is required the RN’s scrub in to assist and possibly suture at the end of the surgery.
Other Duties
· Maintaining Crash Carts: Monthly the crash cart in office is checked to make sure all items are in good working condition and all medications and fluids are not expired.
· FMLA/ Disability Paperwork: On occasion, it is necessary to fill out disability paperwork for patients.
· Phone Calls: On occasion, it is necessary to speak with patients about an emergent situation or to take call on the weekends.
· Incomplete Dictations: When dictations from facilities come to us incomplete, they will need to be amended.
Qualifications
· Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oklahoma, and maintain that license during employment
· BLS/ ACLS certified
· CPR Certified
· Must meet all state requirements to practices as a Registered Nurse
· Must be able to navigate a EMR system and computer
· Must be able to travel to facilities
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The majority of the work will be done in an office clinic setting with some minor travel to facilities (listed above). Hours are 7:45am – 4:30pm and sometimes 5:00pm.
RN’s are required to stand for extended periods of time. The position require minimal and ordinary lifting and bending.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
