Register Nurse, at the Oswego Hematology Oncology provides professional nursing care to patients/families and the community. Will treat patients with chemotherapy and other infusional drugs, as well as complete including triage calls, patient questions/in baskets, lab and test results reviews, treatment summaries required for COC and NAPBC accreditation, and required assessments needing completion due to accreditations and quality affiliations. Accomplishes this by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care and supervising the work of the licensed practical nurses, ancillary staff and students assigned to the unit. Specifically, the registered nurse performs as a bedside nurse, teacher, medication nurse and care coordinator. The Registered Nurse exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:RN licensure as outlined by NYS Education Department and one year post-licensure clinical nursing experience required. CPR Requirement: American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Professional Level Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR. On-line BLS CPR programs are not acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications:Oncology, IV and Infusion experience preferred.
Work Days:Monday - Friday, Days.
