The Endoscopic Surgical Centre of Maryland-North in Rockville (ESCM-N), a GI focused Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) located at Rockville, MD, has an exciting opportunity for a Full time Pre-Op / PACU Registered Nurse to join our team!

Candidates must:

• Demonstrate proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills,
• Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current state license to practice as a registered nurse,
• Maintain BLS, and complete ACLS within 90 days of hire,
• Have at least 1 year RN experience,
• Demonstrate knowledge of EMR and medical terminology
• Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be a team-player with excellent multi-tasking and interpersonal skills
• Must demonstrate compassion for patient needs and a high degree of professionalism

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care at a proficient level, in accordance with applicable clinical scope and standards of practice with the policies, values, and mission of the organization
• Performs and maintains accurate documentation pre/post procedure assessment/evaluation/education of patient condition, including vital signs during pre/post-anesthesia period
• Initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy
• Administers medications, under physician/provider orders, which may include: antibiotics, pain medications, and allergy antigens
• Oversee and maintain patient and staff flow
• Uses and maintains equipment effectively following manufacturer’s instruction for use
• Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to prepare and maintain a sanitized and organized pre/post procedure area
• Additional duties include, but not limited to, maintaining the emergency cart, maintaining inventory of medication, giving pre and post-procedure instruction, and participating in Quality Management projects.
