Meridian is looking to add to our Admissions staff!

Schedule available is Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Starting rate is $15/hour. Essential staff are also being paid an extra $2.35/hour when working on-site,

$1500 Bonus after 90 days of employment in good standing.

Position Overview:

The Admissions Referral Coordinator is responsible for processing incoming referrals, pre-screening applicants, completing pre-admission documentation, insurance verification, scheduling admission appointments, and data entry for client referrals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties):

1. Offer friendly, courteous, and confidential assistance to potential clients to ensure the client and/or family has a positive experience during their scheduling for services;

2. Respond to inquires about the program, admission requirements and other processes. Additionally, confirms appointments by telephone;

3. Facilitates the admission process of all private insurance clients; no matter what level of care is needed. This includes verification of active coverage, as well as any co-pays that may be required at the time of admission;

4. Identify managed health care plans, which require a pre-authorization and communicate the clearance or non-clearance to the potential client;

5. Coordinates with all referring PIHP’s the scheduling of admissions, requests for transportation, and any additional arrangements necessary to facilitate a client admissions to any level of care;

6. Works diligently in conjunction with the Medical Services and Admissions Manager to optimize utilization in residential and withdrawal management programs;

7. Thoroughly and accurately enter selected information into “CPI Trac” and other electronic systems, as required;

8. Complete all required documentation, both in paper and electronic form, as delineated by the referring PIHP or insurance carrier, as well as required per internal policy/procedure;

9. Prepare daily/weekly utilization reports for management;

10. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree/Associate’s degree in appropriate academic discipline preferred or equivalent experience in behavioral health setting.
  • At least one-year practical experience in therapeutic setting with emphasis on intake and screening in a rehabilitation setting, unless otherwise waived.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to produce work efficiently with minimal errors.
  • Ability to work well with various personality types.
  • Ability to make assessment decisions based upon gathered information.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Ability to conduct self in a professional and ethical manner.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
