A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RECRUITING/ONBOARDING SPECIALIST

The Recruiting/Onboarding Specialist is responsible for researching, developing and implementing effective recruiting staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for all T1 and Cedars organizations. The Recruiting/Onboarding Specialist's responsibilities also include communicating company and position details to new hires before their start date, initiating pre-employment and online onboarding activities, gathering necessary paperwork and scheduling first days.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, facilitates and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards and the needs of the organization.
  • Manages job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates and other pertinent details.
  • Craft and send emails with information about the company and position, including work schedules, dress code, parking options, etc.
  • Initiate all pre-employment activities, including background checks and/or drug screenings.
  • Initiate, monitor and process all new employees' online onboarding activities utilizing Paylocity.
  • Prepare virtual or physical onboarding welcoming kits (i.e, logo clothing, cups, welcome note, etc.).
  • Ensure new hires have technical assistance to properly set up their hardware and software.
  • Address new hires' questions regarding payroll, benefits, PTO, employee handbooks, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and tribal employment laws/regulations and company policies.
  • Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR RECRUITING/ONBOARDING SPECIALIST

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent work experience, required.
  • At least three (3) years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process (highly preferred).
  • Proven work experience as a Recruiter and/or Onboarding Specialist.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
