General Summary: Under general supervision, responsible for recruitment of exempt and non-exempt employees to and within Edward Hospital & Health Services. Confers with requesting managers regarding staffing needs and position requirements. Responsible for initial screening, referring prospects to hiring managers for final interview. Supports onboarding of new and transferring employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Confers with hiring/requesting managers to determine staffing and recruitment needs and to understand required/preferred employee competencies. Insures posting of open position information online, including job summary and requirements, accurately and promptly upon receipt of approved personnel requisitions.
- Performs or oversees the review of employment applications of external and internal applicants to determine qualifications of applicants. Performs or oversees the initial screen. Reviews initial interview results to determine qualifications and appropriate fit in position/work environment. Provides candidates with salary and benefit information. May conduct additional interviews in cooperation with hiring manager. Refers qualified candidates to department managers for final interview.
- Ensures completion of reference(s), licensure/certification verification, and other background checks as required by law or NS-EEH policy.
- Works with hiring managers to evaluate candidates for hire. Determines a starting salary by partnering with the hiring manager. Extends official employment offer and verifies start date. Works with hiring manager and HR leadership to negotiate offer terms as necessary. Assists with initial on-boarding of new hires. Schedules start/orientation dates; greets new hires at orientation; and assists with the completion of new employee paperwork.
- Utilizes applicant tracking system, including appropriate complete and accurate documentation, to support recruitment efforts.
- Acts as resource to hiring managers for interview skill development, including behavior-based question development.
- Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization, including applicants, candidates, hiring managers, new hires, and current employees. Facilitates internal transfer processes. May act as a liaison between temporary staffing agencies and managers. Meets with temporary personnel as needed and may assist with processing of contract agency staff.
- Works with recruiting teammates, representatives from appropriate agencies, and other Edward departments to develop and implement effective sourcing techniques such as internet postings, Edward events, and healthcare career promotion.
- Increases depth of knowledge of current and emerging trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate journals and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences, and the like. Shares knowledge/insights gained with others on the team and within HR as appropriate.
Required:
- Two years of Human Resources experience;
- OR Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources;
- OR Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and one year of HR experience
- Prior healthcare experience is preferred
- Workday experience is preferred
