Job description
Your responsibilities:
· Work with senior level R&D engineers to develop new products and tools to manage the products
· Development of programs to interface with commercial ERP and engineering designs tools
· Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents, and reports
· Utilize ERPs (SAP, Teamcenter) to review and create concept design drawings
· Work with Senior Engineers to perform FEM analysis of legacy and conceptual designs
· Interpret regulatory standards and ensure designs meet standards
· Write papers, participate in technical meetings, seminars, and conferences
Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of experience in the electrical design and development, or application of electric motors and 2+ years of experience in programing interfaces and add-ons for ERPs and commercial engineering tools, or PLCs.
*A Master’s Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience.
*A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· 5+ years of experience in either product application or development engineering of AC motors
· Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
· Knowledge in NEMA, IEC, CSA and IEEE electric motor standards
· Experience in 2D/3D finite element method modeling such as ANSYS Maxwell
· Experience in C#, Delphi, database interface program code (ABAP, SQL, etc.) and scripting-based validations
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
