Job Summary

Responsible for the quality reporting standards by ensuring all quality controls/compliance and data for trends and reporting are documented timely. Ensures compliance action plans are completed as needed for deficiencies identified to ensure survey readiness. Responsible for the department supply and equipment administration.

*** This position consists of 5 / 8 hour work shifts weekly ***

Job Specific Duties

• 
  Reviews clinical ED documentation in the Electronic Health Records to ensure appropriate documentation is in compliance.
• 
  Ensures departmental charges are captured correctly and efficiently, reconciles billing errors and/or omissions in a timely manner.
• 
  Trains and educates ED staff on proper facility charge capturing tool utilization and missed documentation.
• 
  Completes TMS service tickets to ensure survey readiness and cleanliness. Monitors survey readiness (weekly clean sweep compliance) and follows through with work orders.
• 
  Assists management in responding to and resolving equipment related issues.
• 
  Reviews and validates data to ensure compliance and reports variances to ED leadership.
• 
  Ensures supplies are maintained, meeting inventory requirements, and cost control targets. Responsible for all purchasing.
• 
  Ensures daily/monthly quality controls (POC - point of care, iStat, temperature, etc.) logs are maintained in accordance with local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
• 
  Serves as Emergency department DECON facilitator. Monitors staffs readiness and provides education based on HAZMAT training .
• 
  Serves as subject matter expert and provides education to emergency departments ancillary staff and physicians on splinting and immobilizing fractures.

Minimum Job Requirements

• 
  Emergency Medical Technician Active State of Florida EMT license - must maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
• 
  American Heart Association BLS - must maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
• 
  Successfully complete CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention Training) - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
• 
  Emergency Vehicle Operator
• 
  2-4 years of experience with regulatory/compliance of medical records and documentation
• 
  2-4 years of experience with healthcare medical supplies and equipment inventory and maintenance
• 
  Mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
