Position Summary and Scope

The Quality Control Technician 3 position is responsible for leading the inspection functions associated with Eldon James’ operations, including but not limited to: accurately performing part measurements and checks with appropriate measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.), correctly compare measured results against dimensions and tolerances specified on inspection drawings, and determine the pass/fail status of the parts in both Clean Room and non-Clean Room environments.

Other duties included between inspections: accurately count finished product with a counting scale, correctly disposition parts in the ERP system, visually inspecting parts to determine the pass/fail status of the parts in both Cleanroom and non-clean room environments, move finished product from the Quality Department to other departments, lifting up to over 40 pounds throughout the work-day, prolonged periods (up to 8 hours) of standing/sitting and repetitive loading/unloading motions, checks department emails, delegates sales orders to Quality Control Technicians 1 and 2. Knowledge of both positions are essential.

Primary Responsibilites

• Quality Control inspection and approval of first-article parts at the beginning of part runs and at 2 hour increments throughout the run
• Identification of product defects and communicating with responsible production personnel when corrective actions are necessary
• Performing part measurements and checks with appropriate measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
• Accurate comparison of measured results against dimensions and tolerances specified on inspection drawings, and determine the pass/fail status of the parts
• Visual inspection of manufactured parts using defined pass/fail inspection criteria to determine the acceptability of the parts
• Completion of data entry into specified quality system and quality inspection forms
• Comply with proper Good Documentation Practices to meet quality standards
• Check department email and delegate sales orders to Quality Control Technicians 1 and 2
• Package finished goods into individual 100-piece packages ready for dispositioning in the cleanroom in between inspections
• Ability to accurately use counting scales
• Double bagging and heat sealing for all cleanroom product
• Disposition and generate appropriate labels for finished goods
• Move product to proper location physically and using IQMS and IQRF
• Perform Industrial and Cleanroom tasks per standard operating procedures and guidelines
• Verification and release of incoming raw materials using Certificate of Analysis data
• Verify all finished goods prior to leaving the Quality Control Area
• Release of product based on its conformance to specifications
• Validation of product using various technical testing devices or systems
• Receiving inspection and any required dimensional inspection of outsourced products
• Collect all finished goods prior to end of shift
• Sweeping/mopping floors on a daily/weekly basis

Secondary Responsibilites

• Participates in cross-functional teams to perform product and component failure analysis and resolution
• Correct inaccurate label qty's
• Restock Cleanroom department with Cleanroom bags
• Adjustment of inventory from -QC (clean room) to non -QC inventory
• Stainless steel pressure testing
• Other duties as assigned
