Responsibilities/Duties
A quick snapshot of the position:
The Quality Assurance Specialist participates in the quality assurance process through the testing and monitoring of Berkshire's product line. This position is also responsible for providing advanced product support for clients who use Berkshire's proprietary commercial web-based applications and contributes to technical and product documentation.
What you will do:
- Contributes to the quality assurance process for Berkshire's commercial web-based applications including, but not limited to:
- Reviewing and revising requirements for testability,
- Developing and executing test plans,
- Coordinating different phases of the software testing process among staff members,
- Performing other software testing tasks on new and updated releases of Berkshire's commercial web based applications in order to ensure quality and secure releases to clients.
- Establishing and monitoring quality assurance levels and metrics to ensure compliance with standing Service Level Agreements.
- Assists in product and technical documentation and client communication for Berkshire's commercial software products as needed, including knowledgebase articles, Frequently Asked Questions, help modules, screencasts, video tutorials, etc.
- Supports internal and external clients of Berkshire's proprietary commercial web-based applications via telephone and e-mail, providing technical assistance and product knowledge, as necessary. Provides on-call support during extended business hours as needed.
Required Skills
- Thorough knowledge of general computer operation is required.
- Thorough knowledge of the Windows platform.
- Thorough knowledge of software testing principles and methods is required.
- Thorough knowledge of test suite management tools.
- Working knowledge of using and administering applications over the web is required.
- Strong knowledge of common web browsers such as Edge, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.
- Strong knowledge of browser dev tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server systems.
- Demonstrated project management skills required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Must be self-motivated, task, detail, and deadline oriented.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision required.
- Ability to communicate with tact and discretion required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automated testing tools.
- General knowledge of automation testing principles and methods.
Required Experience
2 to 4 years of quality assurance experience required, technical support experience preferred.
Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.Details
