Position Overview
This position assists in the coordination and interpretation of Quality Assurance (QA) standards for a food manufacturing company. This position works closely with third party labs with the analysis of data. Position performs a variety of duties ranging from auditing, analysis of data, and general organization of the QA department.
Job Functions

  • Collect, track, record, and analyze micros and determine grades for all finished products. Communicate clearly and effectively with the Sales and Inventory departments to determine product release dates. Track production micros and the certification of products. Obtain and analyze results as well as release products.

  • Compile statistical data and generate reports summarizing data for various individuals or groups, such as the USDA, in a timely manner. Maintain COA documentation and generate micro profiles and special reports. May perform analysis of raw material micros and trends, tracking, and comparing to finished product micros. Identify trends, forecast trends, and identify problems. Effectively communicate findings to management.
  • Responsible for maintaining and complying with document retention requirements. Follow all procedures and protocols established by management. Update management of any new retention requirements that the company must comply with.
  • Audit of sales orders to assure that product shipped is meeting customer date and micro requirements.
  • Update and distribute all required lists following established procedures, such as Test files, Foot and Mouth, USDA data sheets, approved supplier list, and other logs.
  • Effectively communicate with QA Supervisors and assist in coordinating any activities such as sampling/labeling issues, special sampling, changes in policies, and special tests.
  • Coordinate repackaging activity. Work with Inventory and Sales departments to determine schedule, inventory, and grade requirements.
  • Maintain and update QA Manuals as directed by QA Management. Assist in the creation and development of QA training courses.
  • May perform backup duties within the department, as needed. Place orders for various tools and supplies for the plant. Research new suppliers, tools, and supplies as needed.

Skills and Abilities

  • General computer knowledge and proficiency.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and time sensitive dates.

  • Must have regular and punctual attendance.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs.
  • This position requires walking, standing, twisting, reaching, bending, climbing, and lifting.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years clerical experience.
Education: HighSchool diploma or equivalent is preferred. Verifiable ability to perform essential job functions will be accepted.
